Synopsis
Tree planting is one of the most physically and mentally demanding jobs in Canada. Working long days by yourself in the baking sun of desolate clear cuts, you can expect rain storms, snow covered tents, bears, a constant bombardment of flies, swamps and mud; that's tree planting in Northern Alberta. In the independent documentary "78 Days", veteran tree planter, Jason Nardella, follows a reforestation working the northern Alberta swamplands and dealing with a never-ending contract. Veteran planters candidly share their experiences as we watch them struggle through each day of what has become the longest and most difficult season in the company's 20-year history.
